Who it fits

People from about 4′11″ to 6′5″ tall. The seat goes from 16.5″ to 21.5″ high and slides from 14″ to 17.75″ deep: the seat height and depth that range needs. It’s rated for 400 lb, so it suits people up to about 320 lb with the 25% headroom we look for. With 4D armrests, height-adjustable lumbar support, and a sliding seat, it adjusts in every direction, which pays off if you sit 8 hours or more.

Who should look elsewhere

• If you’re shorter than 4′11″: the seat only goes down to 16.5″, and at 4′10″ you need about 15″, so your feet won’t rest flat. Try the Herman Miller Embody, which fits from 4′9″.
• If you’re taller than 6′5″: the seat is 17.75″ deep at most, and at 6′6″ you want about 19″, so your thighs lose support. Try the Herman Miller Embody, which fits up to 6′7″.
